Grant Thornton signed the Diversity Charter for Greek businesses

Grant Thornton, in the context of the methodical and systematic implementation of a series of actions and initiatives that ensure equality and safety in the workplace, signed the Diversity Charter for Greek businesses. In doing so, Grant Thornton confirms that it operates on the principles of equality and inclusion in the business landscape, something it will proudly continue to do consistently and responsibly in the future.

The signing of the Charter took place in Athens, in the presence of the Managing Partner of Grant Thornton Greece, Vassilis Kazas, the Partner and Head of the People Experience and Culture Department of Grant Thornton Greece, Katerina Koulouri, the President of KEAN and Founder of the Diversity Charter, Stavros Milionis, and KEAN's Communication Officer, Katerina Psiha.

The Diversity Charter, an initiative of the European Commission in order to promote Diversity in business, was established in Greece in 2019. Greece became the 23rd country to sign the Charter. Its objective is to act as a means of commitment for the implementation of equality, equal opportunities and diversity in every working environment in Greece. In our country, the Diversity Charter is implemented by the KEAN - Cell of Alternative Youth Activities.

Through the signing of the Diversity Charter, Grant Thornton maintains its promise to ensure a workplace of equal opportunities, which respects employees’ diversity, promotes and enhances the unique characteristics of every individual, combats all forms of discrimination and provides appropriate information and training to employees, regarding issues of diversity and inclusion.

The organization’s commitment to ensuring a modern and inclusive working environment of equal opportunities is also certified by the fact that Grant Thornton became one of the 18 companies in Greece that received the SHARE Equality Label, which reflects the promotion of practices and initiatives aimed at facilitating gender equality. SHARE is implemented through collaboration with the General Secretariat of Demography and Family Policy and Gender Equality, the Research Center for Equality Issues (KETHI) and the Organization for the Professional Empowerment of Women “Women On Top”, co-financed by the "Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme” of the European Union.

On the occasion of the signing of the Diversity Charter, Vassilis Kazas, Managing Partner at Grant Thornton Greece, said: "We are very happy to have signed the Diversity Charter, as we demonstrate our desire to create a working environment that respects every human being regardless of gender, race, religion or sexual orientation.
